Community meeting to discuss housing and development priorities

Neighborhood Services officials have announced an online community meeting to discuss the housing and community development plan for 2025-2026. The meeting is scheduled for Friday, January 10, 2025, at 10 a.m. Access details will be available on the City of Winston-Salem's website at 8 a.m. on the day of the meeting.

City staff, along with representatives from Forsyth County and the Housing Authority of Winston-Salem, will present updates on the current progress of the plan. They will also engage with attendees to gather input on goals and priorities concerning affordable housing, homelessness, fair housing, and neighborhood and economic development. The session will include a question-and-answer segment following the presentation.

The finalized plan aims to address community needs and propose strategies for utilizing federal grant funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to support housing and community development initiatives.
