City announces operational changes for Juneteenth holiday

City offices will be closed Wednesday, June 19, to observe Juneteenth.

Garbage collection on Wednesday will be collected on Thursday; Thursday's collection will be moved to Friday, and Friday's collection will occur on Monday, June 24. Recycling will follow the normal schedule during the week of June 16. Yard waste collections scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday will be postponed by one day.

The Hanes Mill Road Solid Waste Facility will operate from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., while the Old Salisbury Road Landfill, Overdale Road, and Forum 52 yard waste facilities will remain closed. The 3RC EnviroStation will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

CityLink 311, the city's customer service center for residents, will not be staffed. However, non-911 emergency calls will be forwarded to on-call staff in the appropriate department. Requests for routine information or services can be submitted via email (CityLink@CityOfWS.org), through the city website (CityofWS.org), the CityLink 311 mobile application for next-day processing, or by text at (855) 481-5465.
