Carolina University narrowly defeated by Bluefield University in close baseball match

Carolina University faced a narrow defeat against Bluefield University, ending the game 3-2 on March 25, 2025. The Bruins managed to tie the score twice but were unable to counter Bluefield's decisive moves in the later innings.

Bluefield initially took the lead in the first inning. Carolina responded in the second when Antonio Biggers stole second base and scored thanks to an RBI single by Nick Franklin. The game remained level until Bluefield edged ahead again in the sixth inning with a 2-1 lead. Carolina leveled the score once more in the seventh inning, capitalizing on an error.

Keanan White was a standout for Carolina, achieving three hits out of four at-bats. Both Franklin and Abdiel Santana-Carrasquillo contributed by driving in runs. Alex Prevost pitched five innings, allowing two earned runs. N. Burtner secured the win for Bluefield, while T. Woods achieved his seventh save of the season.

Key players from Carolina included Keanan White, who provided consistent offensive performance; Nick Franklin with an RBI single; and Alex Prevost who pitched five innings with six strikeouts. For Bluefield, D. Cutler hit a crucial triple in the sixth inning and J. Greenawal went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

Looking ahead, Carolina University is set to host Spartanburg Methodist for a conference series starting Friday, March 28.
