City invites residents to discuss access to healthy and affordable food

The city’s Sustainability Department is inviting residents to discuss their access to healthy and affordable food through a series of community discussions and a food survey. Information gathered from these initiatives will be used to develop a plan aimed at ensuring everyone in the community has access to nutritious, affordable food.

Residents can participate in the survey by visiting wsfoodsurvey.mysocialpinpoint.com.

The scheduled community discussions are as follows:

- Friday, June 14 at 4 p.m. at Hanes Hosiery Community Center, 501 Reynolds Blvd., Winston-Salem, N.C. 27105. Contact: (336) 727-2428.

- Thursday, June 20 at noon at Rupert Bell Neighborhood Center, 1501 Mt. Zion Place, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27101. Contact: (336) 727-2051.

- Wednesday, June 26 at 7 p.m. at Sprague Street Community Center, 1350 E. Sprague St., Winston-Salem, N.C. 27107. Contact: (336) 650-7680.

- Thursday, July 11 at 6 p.m. at City Hall Committee Room, Second Floor, 101 N. Main St., Winston-Salem, N.C. 27101.

- Monday, July 15 at 5:30 p.m., via Zoom.
