The Winston-Salem Recreation & Parks Department is holding its annual “Trail of Treats” fair and a free screening of “Hocus Pocus” on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Bolton Park, 1590 Bolton St. Admission is free.
Trail of Treats is a Halloween-themed community resource fair for elementary-age children and their families. From 5:30 to 7 p.m., more than 20 information booths operated by non-profits, local businesses and community organizations will be set up in the park for kids to participate in games and activities to win treats or prizes. Children are encouraged to come in their Halloween costumes.
While the kids enjoy the activities, parents or caregivers can learn about resources in the community for families with children, such as athletic programs, scouts and after-school programs.
At 7 p.m. there will be a free screening of “Hocus Pocus,” a 1993 Disney film about three witches from the 1600s who accidentally come to modern-day Salem, Massachusetts, on Halloween night. The movie is rated PG.
Food trucks will be set up around the park. For more information contact Millie Volpitto at milliev@cityofws.org.
