Forsyth Public Health Offering Flu Shots Starting Oct. 3

Forsyth County Public Health, 799 N. Highland Avenue, will offer flu shots during the month of October on Monday-Wednesday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m.-8 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Flu shots are available for individuals 6 months and older. The flu shot is the best way to prevent influenza, better known as the flu. Older people, young children and people with certain health conditions are at high risk for serious flu complications. Public Health officials urge the public to get seasonal flu shots every year, since the virus changes naturally over time.

No appointment is required, walk-ups are welcome, and wearing clothes that gives easy access to the upper arm is encouraged.

It is safe to take both the Fall COVID Booster and flu shot at the same time. Appointments are required for COVID boosters and can be made at forsyth.cc/covidupdate/.

Flu shots are also widely available at medical providers and pharmacies.
