City crews have been working to clear snow and ice from major roads, hospital routes, and the Central Business District. To date, over 500 tons of road salt and more than 50,000 gallons of brine have been used on city roads.

Efforts today will concentrate on clearing collector roads and addressing trouble spots in shaded areas. There may be a transition to residential roads later this afternoon.

Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing tonight, which could make overnight travel hazardous. Travelers this evening or tomorrow morning should watch for black ice in plowed or treated sections.
