East Ward Council Member Annette Scippio has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2025 Transportation and Infrastructure Services Committee. She will serve a one-year term, providing strategic direction and guidance for NLC’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities on transportation. The appointment was announced by NLC President Steve Patterson, who is also the Mayor of Athens, Ohio.

In her new role, Scippio will help shape NLC’s policy positions and advocate for cities across the United States at various government levels. "NLC’s federal advocacy committees are vital for uplifting the voices and needs of America’s 19,000 cities, towns and villages to decision-makers in Washington," said Patterson. "I am excited to work with Council Member Scippio and look forward to supporting their vision and leadership as they serve on the Transportation and Infrastructure Services Committee this year and help grow the partnership between local and federal leaders."

The committee will be led by Chair Vanessa Fuentes, Mayor Pro Tem of Austin, Texas; Vice Chair Christopher Shaw, Commissioner from Dayton, Ohio; and Vice Chair Riakos Adams, Council Member At-Large from Killeen, Texas.
