Customers visiting the Overdale Road Yard Waste Facility in Winston-Salem may experience longer wait times due to ongoing paving work. The city has announced that this work is expected to be completed by Friday, December 6. During this period, customers are advised to adhere to safety guidelines and exercise caution.

The facility will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on November 28 and 29. However, it will operate regular hours on Saturday, November 30, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Residents planning to visit any of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities solid waste facilities should take note of several recommendations: check the hours of operation for all four facilities at cityofws.org/landfill; expect busy conditions and follow posted rules; maintain patience and safe distances with others; avoid Saturday congestion by arriving earlier or visiting on weekdays; ensure open loads are covered with secured tarps; review vehicle/trailer specifications listed under Landfill Permit Application at cityofws.org/landfill.

For additional information, residents can contact CityLink through various methods available at cityofws.org/citylink. Updates on utilities can be received by subscribing to Alert Center and News Flash at cityofws.org/notifyme.
