A contractor will close Fourth Street to all vehicle traffic between Spring and Poplar streets in downtown Winston-Salem on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Monday, July 8, for high-priority water system improvements. The work will impact only a portion of the block and is expected to be completed by Thursday, July 11, weather permitting.

Sidewalks will remain open during the closure, and street parking may be available outside the immediate construction area on the attached map. Access to Center City West Parking Deck via Spring Street will be allowed.

The contractor is responsible for all traffic control. Detours to Fifth and Holly streets will be in place, and motorists are encouraged to plan for alternate routes.
