CityLink, the city’s citizen service call center, will be staffed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Good Friday, March 29. According to city officials, garbage collections scheduled for that day will be postponed to Monday, April 1, while recycling and yard-waste collections will proceed as usual.

The Hanes Mill Road Solid Waste Facility on 325 W. Hanes Mill Road will close at 3 p.m. on Friday, as announced by city authorities. In addition, several other waste facilities including the Old Salisbury Road Landfill, the Overdale Road Yard Waste Facility, and the Forum 52 Yard Waste Facility will also be closed on Good Friday.

Furthermore, the 3RC EnviroStation at 1401 S. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive will remain closed on both Friday and Saturday. Residents are encouraged to check the City of Winston-Salem's website for a detailed schedule of collection changes for all holidays in 2024, available at CityofWS.org/Sanitation. For additional information, individuals can contact CityLink 311.

This service adjustment for Good Friday is part of the city's holiday operations plan, ensuring that essential services are maintained while allowing city employees to observe the holiday.
