The program, which offers mentorships, hands-on training, and personal and professional development, aims to provide valuable opportunities for growth and development.
According to Kemona McCarter, Program Coordinator for the Positive Path Program, "We are excited to announce that applications are now open for the Positive Path Program. This is a wonderful opportunity for young individuals to gain valuable skills and experiences in various fields and pave a positive path for their future."
Apprentices who are accepted into the program will earn $15 per hour for 20 hours per week. The 20-week program not only offers employment but also provides the opportunity for participants to earn their GED and other nationally recognized certifications. Additionally, upon completion of the program, participants will receive six months of follow-up services to ensure a smooth transition into their chosen career paths.

They must also meet at least one of the following criteria: live in a low-income household, have dropped out of high school for over six months if they are 16 or 17 years old, be a current or former foster youth, have an incarcerated parent or caregiver, be a youth or adult offender, or have a referral from a social-services agency.
All applicants will undergo a city drug screening and background check as part of the application process. Males will also be required to register for the Selective Service, and all applicants should be able to lift 25 pounds.
