Jonestown Road Lane Closure

A contractor will be closing the southbound lane of Jonestown Road in Winston-Salem for water system improvements. The closure will take place between Flintfield Drive and Preston Downs Way on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Monday, Jan. 22. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, Feb. 2, weather permitting.

According to the city, the contractor will be responsible for all traffic control during the closure. Flaggers will be deployed to ensure the safety of motorists. The city is urging drivers to plan for alternate routes during this time.

In a statement, the city said, "We understand that this closure may cause inconvenience for some motorists, but it is necessary to improve our water system. We appreciate the public's cooperation and understanding."
