A contractor will be closing Albert Street between Cotton and Green streets for water system improvements. The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, and is expected to last until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19. During this time, only one lane will be closed to minimize the impact on traffic.

The decision to close the street was made in order to facilitate the necessary upgrades to the water system. This project aims to improve the overall infrastructure and ensure the efficient delivery of clean and safe water to the residents of the area.

Motorists are advised to plan for alternate routes and allow for extra travel time during the closure. The contractor is responsible for all traffic control measures to ensure the safety of both workers and drivers.

In a statement, the CityLink spokesperson said, "We understand that road closures can be inconvenient, but we appreciate the public's cooperation and understanding as we work to improve our water system. We encourage everyone to plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid any potential delays."

For more information about the closure or the water system improvements, individuals can contact CityLink at citylink@cityofws.org or call 336-727-8000. Additional information can also be found on the city's official website, cityofws.org/citylink.

With these necessary improvements, the city aims to ensure a reliable and efficient water system that meets the needs of its residents. The closure of Albert Street is a temporary inconvenience that will ultimately result in long-term benefits for the community.
