The city’s Office of Business Inclusion & Advancement is again offering a free nine-week business training course for people interested in starting a small business or who recently started one. Classes will begin Oct. 24 and end Dec. 19. Classes will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evenings in the Bryce A. Stuart Municipal Building’s public meeting room at 100 E. First St., Winston-Salem, N.C. 27101.
The training is designed to help participants evaluate the feasibility of a business concept and develop the skills required to become the owners and operators of successful small businesses. Topics include business plans, financing, legal issues, bookkeeping and taxes, marketing and business insurance. Participants who complete the course are guided through the application process for a city small business loan and encouraged to participate in the next Business Plan Contest.
