On Friday, October 6, Javier Correa-Vega, language access coordinator with the Human Relations/DEI department, and Tiffany Oliva, director of Intergovernmental Affairs & Strategic Initiatives in the City Manager’s Office, were sworn in to serve on Governor Cooper’s Advisory Council on Hispanic/Latino Affairs.

Governor Cooper hosted the ceremony at the NC Executive Mansion celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month to honor the history, culture, and achievements of the Hispanic, Latino, Latinx, and Latine communities across North Carolina. Governor Cooper said, “North Carolina is a stronger place to live and work, thanks to the contributions of our Hispanic and Latino communities. As we celebrate their achievements it brings to light the importance of our diversity and how it can bring a better, more successful life for all of us.”

Congratulations, Javier and Tiffany, on your appointment!
