Winston-Salem Police Department issued the following announcement on October 8.
The Winston-Salem Police Department will have the 4th annual Public Safety Drive-Thru Festival event. This is a free event for all children and their families. Our hope is to promote a safe and fun way for families to trick or treat, from the trunks of decorated first responder vehicles. In these unpredictable times, our goal is to give our children some form of normality.
This year the event will be held in the parking lot of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church located at 4129 Northampton Drive, Winston-Salem, NC on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. There are restrictions set forth regarding this event:
Event is Drive-Thru Only, No Walkers
All candy will be pre-bagged
Grab sticks will be used so no skin contact and to increase social distancing
All staff will wear masks and gloves
Social distancing will be maintained with first responders
This will be different than the past due to COVID-19, however we all hope this will be a fun and safe event for all.
