Forsyth County issued the following announcement on September 16.
After holding several community meetings and conducting an online survey, Forsyth County is no longer considering Tanglewood Park as a site for the potential Multi-Use Agricultural Event Center.
“Management is no longer considering Tanglewood Park as the proposed site,” County Manager Dudley Watts told county commissioners during their Sept. 16 meeting. “We are looking at other potential sites around the county.”
The Multi-Use Agricultural Event Center was part of the 2016 County Parks and Recreation Bond passed by voters in 2016. The $5 million project is to develop, plan, and construct an agricultural multi-use event center in Forsyth County.
The survey showed that nearly 89 percent of respondents where opposed to it being located in Tanglewood Park. It also showed 55 percent were in favor of having the facility somewhere in Forsyth County.
