Winston-Salem/Forsyth County issued the following announcement on August 23.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of Triad Pride Performing Arts fundraising including, the major gifts program, annual fund, planned giving, and special events.  The Director works closely with the Board Development representative and reports to the Board President.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

•      Must embrace the mission of Triad Pride Performing Arts

•      Strong interpersonal and writing skills.

•      Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members and other volunteers.

•      Have the desire to get out of the office and build external relationships.

•      Be a “self-starter” and goal driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls.

•      Be organized on tasks, goals, and most importantly follow thru.

•      A bachelor’s degree preferred.

•      3 years minimum experience in professional fundraising.

ACTUAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.     Work with donors and supporters on a continual basis and maintain effective communications with them.

2.     Grow our fundraising program to include identification of new donors and cultivation to increase donors.

3.     Oversee all grants, writing, submitting, doing follow up reporting, and research and applying for new ones.

4.     Build the planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts such as bequest expectancies.

5.     Direct the annual fundraising drives, including in assisting in design of the mailing materials.

6.     Direct all fundraising drives.

7.     Coordinate fundraisers and special events.

8.     Make public appearances/accept speaking engagements to share information about the Triad Pride Performing Arts with the community.

9.     Attend board meetings and meet with Board Development Chair monthly.

10.  Oversee fundraising database and tracking systems.

11.  Maintain gift recognition programs including mailing of tax/thank you letters.

12.  Perform other related duties as requested.

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Type of Position: Part-Time

Salary: Contract position only, pay commensurate with experience, salary ranges from $10,000-15,000
