Mayor Allen Joines has issued a statement regarding the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. The incident took place during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

In his statement, Mayor Joines expressed his condolences to the family of Corey Comperatore, who lost his life during the attack. He also acknowledged those who were injured. "I extend condolences to the family of Corey Comperatore, who was killed during the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday during a campaign rally, as well as those who were injured during the attack," said Joines.

The mayor praised law enforcement for their prompt response, which he credited with preventing further tragedy. "Fortunately, the quick action taken by law enforcement prevented further tragedy from occurring," he noted.

Joines emphasized unity in times of such violence regardless of political affiliation. "No matter what side of the aisle our elected officials reside, when events like this occur, we come together as one united front against violence in our communities," he stated.
