City offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. This closure will affect several city operations.

Garbage and recycling collections for the week will proceed as usual. However, yard-waste collections will experience a one-day delay; Monday's collection will occur on Tuesday, and so forth throughout the week. Additionally, leaf collection services will not be available on Monday, November 11.

The WSFC Utilities facilities have announced modified hours of operation for the holiday. The Hanes Mill Road Solid Waste Facility will operate from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., while other solid waste facilities such as Old Salisbury Road Landfill, Overdale Yard Waste Facility, and Forum 52 Yard Waste Facility will remain closed.

Residents are encouraged to download the Winston-Salem Collects app from the Apple Store or Google Play to receive personalized alerts about all collection days.

CityLink 311, the city's citizen service call center, will not have staff available on Veterans Day. However, non-911 emergency calls will be redirected to on-call staff within the appropriate department. Requests for routine information or services can still be submitted via email at citylink@cityofws.org, through CityofWS.org, or using the CityLink 311 mobile application for processing on the following day.
