The Human Relations Commission is currently seeking nominations for the 2025 Martin Luther King Jr. Young Dreamers Awards. These awards aim to recognize two young adult leaders who have made significant contributions to their community, focusing on individuals who might otherwise be overlooked or disadvantaged.

The awards will honor one man and one woman from Winston-Salem who are between the ages of 18 and 40. Nominees should exemplify the spirit in which Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. lived, by promoting positive race relations, speaking out against injustice, fostering inclusiveness, embracing diversity, and celebrating religious differences.

It is important to note that nominees cannot be elected officials or hold leadership roles within their organizations at the supervisory or management level. The winners will be selected by members of the Human Relations Commission.

Nominations are open to the public and must be submitted by December 12, 2024. Additional information and a link to the nomination form can be found at CityofWS.org/YoungDreamers.
