Carolina University's women's basketball team achieved a significant milestone by securing their first NCCAA South Region Title. The Lady Bruins faced Paine College in the championship game held on their home court in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The match began with Paine College taking an early lead after the first quarter, ending with a score of 15-14 following a 3-pointer by Maria Beltran. However, the Bruins dominated the second quarter, establishing a strong lead through aggressive defense and effective offense. They limited the Lions to just one point in the final six minutes of the half and went on an 11-point run. Bianca Gonzalez contributed significantly by scoring three out of five successful 3-pointers for her team, achieving a 62.50% success rate from beyond the arc.

In the third quarter, Shamya Loman quickly added to the Bruins' lead by scoring within the first 11 seconds. The period concluded with Carolina University leading 61-47.

DenAsia Mitchell was instrumental in the fourth quarter, scoring 15 points and bringing her total to 26 for the game. She narrowly missed a triple-double with nine assists and twelve rebounds. Other notable performances included Shantazia Gordon's double-double with 15 points and twelve rebounds, and Shamya Loman's contribution of thirteen points and sixteen rebounds.

The Lady Bruins finished strong, scoring twenty-nine points in the final quarter to secure a decisive victory over Paine College with a final score of 90-68.

Looking ahead, Carolina University will compete at the NCCAA National Tournament scheduled for Wednesday, March 20th in Winona Lake, Indiana.
