Carolina University Baseball faced the Knights of St. Andrews University in a three-game series this week in Laurinburg, North Carolina. The Bruins began strong with two runs in the first inning of the opening game, taking an early lead. However, the Knights rallied back to win 3-2 by the end of the seventh inning.
In the second game, St. Andrews maintained their momentum and secured a decisive 8-1 victory over Carolina University. The series concluded with a single game at Mando Field at Rich Park, where St. Andrews triumphed again with a final score of 17-4.
During Game 1, Elias Nurideen reached first base on an error by St. Andrews' third baseman, which allowed Julius Torres to advance to second base. Bryan Deegan then earned an RBI as Torres returned home and Nurideen advanced to third base before scoring on a wild pitch.
Adam Conrad was notable for his performance as he pitched five innings and achieved nine strikeouts.
In Game 2, Julius Torres scored Carolina's only run after another error by St. Andrews' third baseman during the third inning.
Game 3 saw Alejandro Rodriguez leading with two RBIs and one home run for Carolina University. Both Bryan Deegan and Paxton Tucker also contributed RBIs, while Alexiel Delgado added two runs for the team.
Looking ahead, Carolina University's next challenge is against Montreat College's Cavaliers in a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday at their home field at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
