81 coaches at institutions in Forsyth County earned $393,867 on average in 2022

Forsyth County’s 81 coaches earned an average salary of $393,867 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the third highest average salary per county earned by coaches at North Carolina post-secondary schools during 2022.

Forsyth County is home to four post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Wake Forest University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $729,888.

Male coaches of men's teams received $757,864 on average in Forsyth County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $87,256.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
