FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to coordinate the utilization, logistics, and financial agreements regarding the use of the auditorium by the high school, various other entities within the school district and various community or external entities that rent the facility. Additionally, the position is tasked with identifying ways to operate the auditorium for a profit while satisfying the needs of the high school and school district.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Serve as the point of contact for various departments within the district as well as external organizations to schedule and coordinate events that utilize the auditorium.
· Draw up leases for rental groups and collect funds for rental.
· Coordinate necessary personnel for events such as technical crew, ushers, security, and custodial staff.
· Order the necessary equipment – stage, lighting, rigging and sound, as well as goods – custodial supplies, light bulbs to keep the auditorium functioning.
· Operate sound and light equipment to support productions or events.
· Prepare and oversee the preparation of auditorium facilities for school district and external customers in accordance to agreements with auditorium customers.
· Monitor and schedule maintenance repairs including by not limited to paint touch ups, ADA compliance needs, seating repairs, fly systems, building envelope, and technical systems as needed in coordination with district facility and maintenance personnel.
· Maintain monthly financial statements to monitor profit and loss and provide budgetary updates.
· Maintain a cash management system.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Ability to manage personnel to create a satisfying experience for all patrons.
· Ability to work with students in a learning, instructional capacity in conjunction with Reynolds High School Arts program.
· Ability to work with and coach student technical crews for productions.
· Ability to operate a computer lighting console.
· Ability to work independently and manage work time.
· Ability to use CAD software to create lighting plots and read any and all building or stage plans.
· Ability to operate a computer for the purposes of scheduling events, communications, creating documents for facility use such as lease agreements and other financial documents, as well as the use of computer and sound console.
· Ability to climb ladders, operate man lift and work in elevated positions.
· Ability to communicate effectively with school and community-based patrons in a business-like professional manner.
· Knowledge and understanding of the basic operation of front of house environment – ushers, house manager, security, crowd management, customer service, box office.
· Knowledge and understanding of areas of technical theater – lighting, sound, stage management, networking, rigging, carpentry.
· Knowledge of and ability to comply with OSHA and ADA standards
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in related field and five (5) years-experience as a manager/facilitator of a performing arts/event venue.
Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in related field and seven (7) years-experience as a manager/facilitator of a performing arts/event venue.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
Valid NC Driver’s License
Ability to obtain and maintain, at minimum, a 10-hour OSHA Certification to support safety needs
Ability to obtain and maintain Aerial Platform Lift Certification
Pay Grade OSM1 - $4,990.00 Minimum Monthly Pay Rate - 12 Month Position
