West End Mambo to Take the Stage at Tanglewood Park

Winston-Salem, NC (May 25, 2022) – Forsyth County Government and Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County will host the seventh annual Summer Parks Concert Series at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons and Triad Park in Kernersville. West End Mambo will kick off the series on June 5 at 5pm. 

Formed in 1999, West End Mambo is comprised of musicians from North, South and Central America as well as the Caribbean. The band performs a fiery mix of classic salsa from bolero and rumbas to guaracha and son montuno. Their repertoire includes original orchestral salsa arrangements which they have performed with the Winston-Salem and Greensboro Symphonies. West End Mambo features Cesar Oviedo, Atiba Rorie, Steve Blake, Oscar Oviedo, Sendy Mendez, Andy Kleindeinst, Ramone Ortiz, Jay Meachum, and James Armstrong.

­During the concert, families are encouraged to enjoy free art activities sponsored by Publix Charities. Vendors and food trucks will also be at all Summer Parks Concert Series concerts including Dream Kreams, who is confirmed for the June 5 concert. 

2022 marks the seventh season for the Summer Parks Concert Series which is a collaborative presentation by Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County and Forsyth County Government. All concerts are free and family friendly. Food trucks and refreshments will be available for purchase.

Tanglewood Park: 4061 Clemmons Rd., Clemmons, NC 27012

The featured Community Partner for this event is Forsyth Technical Community College. 

Series partners include Publix Super Markets Charities, Best of Winston, WFDD, WSNC, WTOB, YES! Weekly, and Raffaldini Vineyards. 

Concerts and parking at both parks are free. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and may bring a picnic or patronize food trucks onsite. Refreshments such as water, beer and wine are available for purchase with all proceeds supporting Arts Council. No outside alcohol is permitted. 

Five additional concerts will take place at 5pm on the following dates:

  • June 19: A Juneteenth Celebration featuring Jamera McQueen-Smith and Matelyn Alicia at Tanglewood Park
  • July 3: Salem Band & Letters From Home at Triad Park
  • July 17: The Martha Bassett Show at Triad Park
  • July 24: ENVISION at Tanglewood Park
  • August 14: The Collection at Triad Park
