The Enrichment Center’s mission is to help those with developmental and intellectual disabilities live their best life for almost 40 years with a primary a focus on the arts. The Art Day Program, consisting of seven “pods” focuses on multi-media, pottery, music, performing arts, culinary, digital creations, and life skills and these skills are nurtured by pod leaders who work with each person to help develop their artistic skills and express themselves in the way they choose. Once art has been created, it is sold in the Gateway Gallery and those who created the art receive a commission for their art.
We are currently seeking artists to serve in POD Leader roles, that share the vision of helping each individual we serve and understands that everyone has the ability to be an artist in some way, if they desire. The Enrichment Center prides itself on creating a diverse, positive, and participant-focused program and we are seeking artists that share this same perspective, are committed to the Mission, and want what is best for those we support while helping the organization to be relevant in the future. The “POD Leader” position includes being part of a team that manages the Gallery, events, marketing, and other art-based activities.
Currently, the following Pod Leader positions are open in the following pod areas:

Job Description: Manage an art POD of individuals (5-10 participants) in a Day Program setting. Work with those in the POD to help them develop art skills and create art items. Throughout the day, activities are incorporated to help develop life-skills and independent living skills. The service provided is then documented at the end of the day concerning the progress made. This may include off-site time to visit, tour or collaborate with other art programs, galleries or creative experiences throughout the surrounding area.
Skills: A background in the arts with a desire to work with the IDD community and an understanding and desire to nurture the different skills that emerge when working with multiple individuals with varying degrees of talent. Creative, flexible, mission-driven, dedicated, self-motivated and compassionate are the key characteristics of successful POD leaders serving in these roles.
