City of Winston Salem issued the following announcement on Dec. 23.

Donate to those in need

Several area nonprofit agencies are generously providing financial assistance for Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities customers with past-due water and sewer bills who have lost jobs due to the pandemic. 

If you’d like to contribute to these charitable organizations, please select from the following list:

  • Centenary United Methodist secure.accessacs.com/access/oglogin.aspx?sn=29338 to the Loaves & Fishes fund and include “water” in the memo, or check to Centenary with “Loaves & Fishes-water” in the memo 
  • Crisis Control Ministry via United Way app.mobilecause.com/form/maSDzQ?vid=fh9v0 
  • Experiment in Self-Reliance, Inc. eisr.org/donations/ via PayPal, select “Other” for campaign and then “Water Utilities” or by check to ESR, Attn: Debra Perkins, PO Box 135, Winston-Salem, NC 27102 with “Water Utilities” in the memo 
  • Sunnyside Ministry sunnysideministry.org/donate for “Water Utilities” 
If you are a customer in need, the first step to be eligible for assistance is to call City Link at 336-727-8000 to enroll in a payment plan.
