A Hickory-based food business is adding 20 stores to its brands that are in South Carolina and Georgia, the company, Alex Lee, said in a September release.
Alex Lee, Inc, owner of the Winston-Salem Lowes Foods, reached an agreement with Southeastern Grocers’ 20 BI-LO stores, the company said the release published on WinstonSamlem.com.
“We are excited to add these new locations to our retail store portfolio,” Alex Lee president and CEO Brian George said in the release. “We have an opportunity to accelerate our growth in these markets while continuing to provide shoppers with a unique grocery shopping experience in their local communities.”
The company anticipates the stores to finish transiting to its KJ’s Market IGA and Lowes Foods brands in November.
The purchase of the additional stores will significantly expand Alex Lee’s sales radius, enhance the operations in the new markets and offer new customer service standards for new shoppers.
