Carolina University's men's volleyball team secured their first win of the season during a tri-match hosted by Warren Wilson in Asheville, NC. The Bruins played against Roanoke College Maroons and Warren Wilson Owls.

In the initial match against Roanoke, the Bruins faced challenges and lost 0-3, with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-17. Jashawn Sykes led offensively for Carolina University with seven kills, while freshman setter Kai Jamerson contributed 17 assists. The team showed improvement in the second set but was unable to capitalize on aggressive serving to overcome the Maroons.

The Bruins then competed against Warren Wilson Owls and dominated the match with a sweep victory of 3-0. Set scores were 25-18, 25-15, and 25-16. This win marked head coach Jake Boldog's first collegiate victory. Sykes again led offensively with six kills, supported defensively by Wesley Diggs who achieved ten digs.

The team aims to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next game against St. Andrews Knights on February 4th at 6:00 PM.
