Carolina University Women's Basketball team faced Johnson & Wales University in a challenging game on December 11, 2024, in Charlotte, NC. The Bruins were narrowly defeated by the Wildcats with a final score of 92-85. Carolina led at halftime but was unable to maintain their lead during the last quarter when the Wildcats outscored them 15-8.
In the first half, both teams displayed competitive play. Johnson & Wales held a slight edge with a 20-18 lead after the first quarter. However, Carolina rebounded in the second quarter, scoring 20 points against the Wildcats' 12, which gave them a 38-32 advantage at halftime. The Bruins continued to perform well in the third quarter and maintained their lead with a score of 62-53.
The fourth quarter proved challenging for Carolina as they struggled offensively while Johnson & Wales executed effectively to take control of the game. This resulted in a victory for Johnson & Wales at 92-85.
Nadia McDowell-Jackson was the top scorer for Carolina with 22 points. Le'Asia Matthews contributed 17 points and Felesia Ondongo achieved a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Despite these strong individual performances, Carolina fell short in securing a win.
Carolina University's Women's Basketball team will play again on Monday, December 16th at home against Spartanburg Methodist College at 5:00 PM.
