Carolina University's men's basketball team participated in the Bevo Francis Classic over the weekend, competing against the University of Rio Grande and WVU Tech in Ohio.
During the first day, Carolina faced off against Rio Grande's RedStorm. Despite a strong performance by graduate student Chris High, who scored 36 points and secured 5 rebounds, Carolina lost with a final score of 67-89. High was particularly effective from beyond the arc, making 10 out of 14 three-point attempts.
On the second day, Carolina played against WVU Tech's Golden Bears. The Bruins struggled to manage their opponent's scoring runs and were defeated with a score of 49-73. Dakta Sampson led his team with 13 points and 6 rebounds but was unable to close the gap on WVU Tech's lead.
The Bruins are set to play again on Monday night at 7:00 PM against North Carolina Central University.
