Carolina University Women's Basketball team faced a challenging game against Regent University in Virginia Beach. The Bruins, with a season record of 9-7, were up against Regent, who held a 7-13 record. Despite their efforts, the Bruins narrowly lost with a final score of 76-78.
In the first quarter, Carolina University scored 20 points compared to Regent's 26. The Bruins continued to fight back throughout the game, scoring 18-16 in the second quarter and 16-14 in the third. The fourth quarter ended evenly at 22-22. However, Regent's initial lead proved decisive.
Key performances came from Shamaya Loman and DenAsia Mitchell. Loman led with an impressive 27 points and secured seven rebounds. Mitchell contributed significantly with a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing ten rebounds.
The Bruins are set to play again on Thursday, February 15th at Washington Adventist University at 5:30 pm.
