Carolina University women's basketball concludes season with NCCAA championship effort

Women's Basketball played against Grace College in the NCCAA National Championship game, held in Winona Lake, Indiana. The Lady Bruins fought through four quarters but ultimately could not overcome the Lady Lancers of Grace College.

The Bruins had a slow start offensively in the first quarter, allowing Grace College to gain a small lead. Turnovers posed challenges for The Blue and Gold as they went into halftime trailing by 21 points. In the third quarter, they found their rhythm, scoring 20 points with Loman contributing eight and Gordon seven. Despite reducing the lead to nine at several points, The Bruins struggled in the fourth quarter and could not bridge the 14-point gap.

The championship game saw two double-doubles from The Blue and Gold players. Shamya Loman scored 20 points and secured 11 rebounds. Shantazia Gordon added 13 points along with 12 rebounds. Carolina University's Women's basketball team concluded their most successful season yet with a record of 16-9. DenAsia Mitchell earned a spot on the NCCAA All-Tournament Team after delivering an impressive performance across three games, averaging 15 points per game during the tournament.
