Carolina University Softball commenced their journey in the NCCAA South Region tournament with two games held on May 8, 2024, in Augusta, Georgia. The first day featured competitive matches that kept fans engaged.

In the opening game, Carolina University's Lady Bruins faced off against The University of Fort Lauderdale. The Eagles took an early lead in the first inning. However, the Bruins managed to tie the score at 4-4 by the fifth inning. Graduate student Grace Johnson hit a home run during her first at-bat and later contributed with a sacrifice fly. Despite these efforts, the Bruins were unable to overcome a two-run deficit established by the Eagles in subsequent innings and concluded their first game with a 4-6 loss.

Later that evening, the Bruins competed against Paine College's Lions. This match ended favorably for Carolina University as they secured a narrow 5-4 victory. Junior Grace Andrews played a pivotal role by hitting a home run in the fifth inning which brought in two RBIs and extended their lead to 5-2. Although Paine College attempted a comeback with runs scored in both the fifth and seventh innings, Carolina University's defense held firm to maintain their lead.

Madison Hamilton pitched for seven innings for Carolina University, achieving three strikeouts during her time on the mound.

The Lady Bruins are set to play Trinity Baptist College next on May 8th at 10:30 AM as they aim for advancement into the semi-finals of this double-elimination tournament.
