Carolina University Softball achieved a successful sweep during the Senior Day doubleheader against Livingstone College on Monday in Clemmons, North Carolina. The Bruins concluded both games after five innings each.
In the first game, the Lady Bruins secured a decisive 17-1 victory. They maintained strong defense throughout, allowing only one run from their opponents in the first inning. Grace Johnson, recently awarded MVP status, initiated the scoring with a home run. Kalea Bolch and Danielle Brooks also contributed to building an early lead of 2-1 by the end of the first inning.
The second inning saw the Bruins adding six more runs, followed by nine additional runs in the third inning. Notable performances included Nicole Otto's RBI single and Grace Johnson's second home run of the day, which brought three more RBIs. Zamijah Thomas also added to the score before Kalea Bolch hit another home run.
Danielle Brooks pitched all five innings for Carolina University without errors and recorded four strikeouts.
The second game mirrored similar success for Carolina University with a 13-1 win over Livingstone College. Once again, Grace Johnson stood out with another home run and four RBIs. Contributions came from Danielle Brooks with two RBIs and a double; Kalea Bolch added one RBI and a triple; Kourtney Cox had one RBI and a double.
Carolina University's next challenge is scheduled for Tuesday as they travel to face Mars Hill University.
