Carolina University Baseball faced Mid-Atlantic Christian University in a three-part series over the weekend. The series commenced on Friday night and concluded Saturday afternoon.
The Bruins lost the first two games with scores of 3-4 and 5-7. However, they secured a win in the third game with a score of 3-2 against the Mustangs.
In the first game, Paxton Tucker contributed an RBI with a single in the seventh inning, followed by Tanner Bray's single that brought another runner home, making it 2-4. Julius Torres stole home in the eighth inning to bring the final score to 3-4. Freshman catcher Jacob Ananias recorded ten putouts and one double during this match.
The second game saw the Mustangs take an early lead, but strong defense from the Bruins prevented any additional scoring past the third inning. Alexiel Delgado hit a home run in the fifth inning, reducing the deficit to 3-7. Bryan Deegan's double in the seventh inning brought Delgado and Rodriguez home, but the Bruins fell short at 5-7.
In their third encounter on Saturday evening, Tanner Bray achieved a home run and a double contributing to their 3-2 victory. Pitchers Alex Prevost and Caden Ross were instrumental, with Prevost pitching six innings with three strikeouts and Ross finishing with two strikeouts and no errors over two innings.
The Bruins will next face Toccoa Falls away on Friday, April 19th at 5:00 PM and again on Saturday at noon and 3:00 PM.
