A northbound lane of Old Hollow Road (N.C. 66) in Walkertown has been closed between Main Street and Darrow Road due to a broken water main. The closure is expected to last until midnight.

According to CityLink, the city's official communication channel, motorists are advised to plan for alternate routes while the repair work is being carried out. The closure is necessary to ensure the safety of drivers and to expedite the repair process.

In an official statement, CityLink provided contact information for those seeking more information about the closure. Spokesperson John Smith said, "For more information, please contact CityLink at citylink@cityofws.org or call 336-727-8000. Alternatively, you can visit the City of Winston-Salem's website at cityofws.org/citylink and use any method available on the site to obtain information."

This closure serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining our infrastructure. Water mains, just like any other utility system, require regular maintenance and occasional repairs to ensure their proper functioning. City officials are working diligently to resolve the issue and minimize any inconvenience caused by the closure.

Motorists are urged to stay informed about traffic updates and any changes to the closure by subscribing to the Alert Center and News Flash for Utilities updates on the city's website at cityofws.org/notifyme.

Residents and commuters in the Walkertown area are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly and allow for extra travel time. By being aware of the closure and using alternate routes, drivers can help reduce congestion and ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the area.

As the repair work progresses, the City of Winston-Salem will continue to provide updates on the closure and notify residents when the northbound lane of Old Hollow Road is reopened.

In the meantime, city officials would like to thank the public for their understanding and cooperation during this necessary road closure.
