City of Winston-Salem issued the following announcement on March 14.
Local non-profit organizations can learn more about the transformative grants program that the City Council has approved during a virtual public briefing to be held at noon Thursday, March 17.
The briefing will be held via Zoom and will livestream on CityofWS.org/YouTube. Viewers who want to ask questions should sign in to participate in the briefing and pose questions through the chat box. A link to participate will be posted on CityofWS.org/CLFRF. The link will not be active until 15 minutes before the briefing starts.
The City Council last month approved a process for awarding grants to non-profit organizations to fund “transformative” programs that address such social and economic needs as poverty alleviation, job training and economic mobility. The council is looking for proposals that will have a lasting effect in addressing these needs.
The city anticipates sending out a request for proposals later this month. Proposals would be reviewed in April. Depending on how many proposals the city receives, proposals could go to the City Council as early as May.
