City of King issued the following announcement on July 23.
Congratulations to Honorary Corporal CJ Berry of the King Police Department! The police department held a special swearing in service for CJ on Friday, July 23rd.
CJ is 16 years old and his passion is law enforcement. You have probably seen him around King driving a high-tech wheel chair decorated with police insignia. At a young age, CJ was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), which is a very serious degenerative muscular disease in children. CJ is always excited to see our Police Officers out in the City, and he makes a special effort to speak to our Officers when he gets a chance.
We are proud of CJ, and glad to have him officially as part of our team!
