Walgreens is becoming the one-stop shop for doctors and prescriptions. The drugstore chain will be partnering up with Novant Health, a health care network that spans several states, to create all-in-one physicians and pharmacy clinics, reports a Market Watch press release.
According to the press release, Novant Health has more than 640 locations and will be opening new clinics at Walgreens stores in several counties in North Carolina. Walgreens in turn will be acquiring nine Novent Health Pharmacies.
The clinics will see patients with common illnesses as well as patients with injuries and those with chronic illnesses who require follow-up appointments.
These clinics will be open seven days a week and will be located in Winston-Salem, Charlotte and Brunswick County. The press release said that the new Novant Health Express at Walgreens locations are set to open in the first of the year and will help patients get quick access to health care with no appointments.
