Winston-Salem plans overnight lane closures for wastewater system cleaning

A contractor is set to begin cleaning the wastewater system in Winston-Salem overnight starting on Sunday, June 15, from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, June 20, at 5 a.m.

The project will involve temporary lane closures on various streets throughout the city. The affected streets include Robinhood Road between Huntingreen Lane and Wellington Road; Silas Creek Parkway between Hope Valley Road and Hanes Mall Boulevard; Country Club Road between Fath Drive and Westview Drive SW; Jonestown Road between Southwin Drive and US Highway 421; Reynolda Road between Kent and Robinhood roads; Church Street between First and Sixth streets; High Point Road between Wayside Meadowood drives; Clemmonsville Road between Dudley Street and Thomasville Road; Waughtown Street between Dacian Street and Longview Drive; Thomasville Road between Brookline Street and Clemmonsville Road.

Additional streets experiencing closures are Martin Luther King Jr Drive between Junia Avenue and Waughtown Street as well as New Walkertown Road and C.E. Gray Drive; Third Street between Metropolitan Drive and Woodland Avenue; Main Street between Old Salem Road and Bank Street; Sixth Street between Marshall and Cherry streets; Peace Haven Road between Aquadale and Woodgrove lanes; Milhaven Road between Milhaven Lake Drive and Locksley Lane; Kinnamon Road between Ramanda Drive and Blue Bonnet Lane, along with Lewisville Clemmons Road from Bebb Willow Lane to Leons Way.
