Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities hosting hiring event with NCWorks on September 16

Job seekers in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County will have the opportunity to apply for a range of positions with the local Utilities department at a hiring event scheduled for Tuesday, September 16. The event is being held in partnership with NCWorks and will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the NCWorks Career Center inside Goodwill, located at 2701 University Parkway in Winston-Salem. Overflow parking will be available at the coliseum.

Available positions include maintenance workers, civil engineers, water servicers, equipment operators, and others. All roles require applicants to have at least a high school diploma or GED. Hiring managers will review qualifications on-site and may select candidates for immediate fast-track interviews. Those who stand out could be referred for formal interviews after the event.

The City encourages individuals who are interested in public service and career advancement to attend. Attendees are advised to bring five copies of their resume and dress professionally.

Candidates holding a Class B commercial driver license (CDL) are especially needed for equipment operator roles in utilities field operations as well as solid waste facilities.
