The Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) will hold a Community Day recruitment event on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Beaty Training Center, located at 1200 N. Patterson Avenue.

The free, family-oriented event provides an inside look at law enforcement careers, offering opportunities for both sworn officers and professional staff. Participants will engage with WSPD members to understand the recruitment process, various career paths, and the role of serving in the Winston-Salem community.

Community Day includes interactive demonstrations and hands-on experiences with specialized units such as the K9 Unit, SWAT, Patrol, 911 Communications, Forensics, and the Gang Unit.

Food trucks, including Lomo House, Roadway Dawgs, and Fisher’s Donuts, will offer lunch for purchase. Parking for the event is available at Two Cities Church, 1001 N Patterson Avenue, with an officer stationed to assist pedestrians crossing to the event site.

No registration is needed to attend. Further details are available on the event page: https://www.facebook.com/share/1A3uxWoXuF/.
