Neighborhood Services development officials have announced a public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, at 6 p.m. in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The meeting will take place at the Arnold G. King Public Meeting Room, Suite 530 of the Bryce A. Stuart Municipal Building, with the primary focus being on gathering feedback on the consolidated housing and community development plan for 2024-25.

According to Neighborhood Services development officials, the purpose of the meeting is to receive input from residents on the plan. They also mentioned that city team members, along with representatives from Forsyth County and the Housing Authority of Winston-Salem, will be present to provide an overview of the plan, address inquiries, and solicit community feedback on various aspects such as affordable housing, homelessness, fair housing, neighborhood, and economic development.

Additionally, officials emphasized that the ultimate goal of the plan is to identify community needs and outline the proposed utilization of federal grant funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to support housing and community development initiatives.

Residents who are unable to attend the meeting in person are encouraged to submit their comments via email. Furthermore, individuals requiring assistance or interpretation services for the hearing are advised to make their requests at least 48 hours prior to the event.
