Post-graduation plans: Sparanese joined Ohio-based Medical Solutions as a recruiter coordinator. She works closely with health care professionals, builds relationships and handles travel assignments.

How HPU helped you get there: “HPU truly sets their students up for success. With access to so many resources and mentors, HPU makes it a seamless transition from college into the work world. The Office of Career and Professional Development gave me the confidence I needed for the job interview process. Receiving feedback to perfect my resume was beneficial in helping me land the interviews.”

Most impactful mentor at HPU: “My most impactful mentor was Greg Page, assistant professor of the practice of health care management. During my last semester, I took his health care class without knowing I would be working in that industry. As I reflect on his class, it may have been the most impactful class during my four years. I am so grateful I took his class, as it prepared me for the career I am in now.”

Most impactful moment at HPU: “It was in the moment walking across the stage at graduation. As much as HPU sets its students up for success, once they walk that stage, it is now in their hands to take everything they have learned and apply it in the real world. As nervous as I was to close this chapter, HPU prepared me more than I could have imagined. I wouldn’t be where I am today without this extraordinary education.”

How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success? “HPU’s environment taught me to not only set high expectations but to reach them as well. Being surrounded by success inspires students to achieve success.”

What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success? “I have learned the importance of networking and making connections through my daily life. You never know who you will meet, and you always want to showcase your best self.”

Advice for underclassmen: “Enjoy these four years because they will be over before you know it. You will meet so many amazing mentors and students to make connections with. Be sure to take advantage of all the amazing resources HPU provides for their students.”
