February 19.

Job Title: Front of House Coordinator

Department: Production/Operations/Facilities

Reports to: Director of Theatre and Facility Operations

Classification: Part time (~20 hours/week, including nights and weekends), hourly, non-exempt

Pay Rate: $17/hr

Job Summary:

The Front of House Coordinator oversees the scheduling and support of part-time Front of House staff, including house management, box office, concessions, and front desk associates. This position assists with gift shop, concessions, and box office sales and inventory, and provides additional on-site support for events and performances as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

Create monthly schedule for house management, box office, concessions, and front desk associates based on campus event calendar created by Director of Theatre & Facility Operations

Provide support and training for Front of House staff

Serve in front of house roles as needed, finding or providing shift coverage

Assist with gift shop, concessions, and box office sales and inventory

Coordinate accessible services for events and performances (including physical accessibility accommodations, assistive listening devices, audio description, captioning, etc.) in collaboration with Director of Theatre & Facility Operations

Serve as on-site event coordinator for special events as needed

Perform work in a manner that is consistent with Arts Council’s mission, vision, and values, including advancing the organization’s commitment to equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion

Other duties as assigned by Director of Theatre & Facility Operations

Experience/Job Requirements:

Extensive experience providing excellent customer service to guests from diverse backgrounds

Experience in guest-facing role at a cultural arts organization (ex: box office, house management, guest experience, teaching artist, tour guide, etc.)

Experience creating staff schedules

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook Calendar, and Google suite

Experience with point-of-sale systems (retail, food service, and/or box office)

Familiarity with accessibility services and best practices

Event coordination experience desired, but not required

Flexible availability for work hours, including nights and weekends

Proven ability to work as part of a diverse team of individuals

Essential functions: The ability to sit or stand for multiple hours; communicate effectively with staff and guests via computer, telephone, and in-person; create detailed staff schedules using calendar, spreadsheet, and scheduling applications; perform point-of-sale transactions
