Virtual Career Fair on Dec. 14

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools issued the following announcement on December 6.

DECEMBER 6, 2021 – Schools throughout the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system are looking to hire teachers, teacher assistants, school counselors, and people to serve in other positions.

At the Virtual Winter Career Fair 2021 being held on Tuesday Dec. 14 from 3 to 5 p.m., people will be able to learn more about schools where they are interested in working and talk with principals at those schools.

“The fair provides candidates with a unique opportunity to network with principals across the district, and they are able to explore all of our exciting opportunities in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools,” said Bree Christensen, the school system’s Employee Recruitment Coordinator.

To participate, people need to register before the fair at Register. When they register, they will be asked to submit a resume.

When they register, they can sign up for the WS/FC schools where they are interested in working. During the fair, they can participate in chats about the school and then principals will visit with up to two candidates at a time.

At the moment, WS/FCS is looking for about 150 teachers and more than 75 teacher assistants.

“Teacher assistant need is high,” said Kelly Crisp, the school system’s Sourcing Support Specialist.

Kelly 34People are also be sought to work as school counselors, speech-language pathologists, and in different leadership positions. Leslie Alexander, the Area Superintendent for Leadership Development, will talk with people interested in learning more about different leadership positions.

After someone registers for the fair, they will be invited to attend a virtual webinar on Thursday Dec. 9 from 3:30 to 4 p.m. that is designed to help them learn more about what to expect at the fair and ways to get the most out of the fair, including resume tips.
