Class of 2021 Outcomes: Joseph Voglino Moves to Merrill Lynch

Class

High Point University issued the following announcement on October 15.

With another Commencement quickly approaching, High Point University graduates will be commencing prestigious career paths around the world at Fortune 500 companies, international service programs, public school systems, top-tier law, medical and graduate school programs, and many other esteemed organizations thanks to their journey at HPU. Here’s a glimpse of one extraordinary member from the Class of 2021:

Name: Joseph Voglino

Hometown: Eatontown, New Jersey

Major: Human relations with a minor in sales

Post-graduation plans: Voglino joins Merrill Lynch as an investment specialist focusing on service to sales with existing Merrill Lynch clients by providing exceptional client care, growing client relationships, and guiding clients with needs-based solutions that will support their financial goals.

How HPU helped you get there: “High Point University and more specifically Professor Julie Hill, helped me dip my feet into the financial industry with an internship at Signature Wealth Strategies. If it were not for HPU and the help of Professor Hill, I would not have realized that this was the career path I wanted to pursue and it was my experience prior to graduation that allowed me to get here. I also used the Office of Career & Professional Development many times to help with my resume and LinkedIn Profile.”

Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Professor Julie Hill helped to connect me with Signature Wealth Strategies, where I interned during my senior year. She allowed me to pick an internship outside of Human Relations in a career field that I was interested in pursuing after graduation. This internship gave me amazing hands-on experience in the wealth management industry and in turn helped me decide this is what I wanted to do as my career. ”

Most impactful moment at HPU: “I could not choose just one. Whether it was Greek Life, interactions with faculty, or even networking opportunities, I believe my whole experience at HPU has helped mold me into the person I am today and helped me achieve this amazing opportunity with Merrill Lynch.”

Advice for underclassmen: “My advice is to take full advantage of every opportunity at High Point University. Get involved, bond with professors in and out of class, and cherish the four years you have because you never know where you will end up in the end. All these things will help you get there.”
